BIOFERM – RITA 2018-2020

Today, research and innovation transfer must be geared more towards promoting an intensified and profitable farm model, with a low level of inputs, valuing locally produced resources. The general objective is to contribute to the sustainability of mixed agricultural production systems combining agriculture and livestock by proposing (1) the development of innovative technical itineraries for the local production of food resources through the recovery and conservation of natural resources available on exploitation, (2) to implement an integrated approach of support-advice on the exploitation of the natural resources on the exploitation and the reduction of the levels of the inputs; (3) to produce technical and economic references on the performance of cropping systems in order to assist farmers, management services and administrations in their decision-making in favor of agricultural development.

The project is structured around 3 actions:

1. Coordination and scientific and technical animation between the various partners and beneficiaries of the project (administrative and financial management, workshops, support missions, coordination of transfers);
2. Development of innovative technical itineraries based on conservation agriculture and organic fertilization of plots for maintaining or restoring soil fertility;
3. Transfer actions and production of benchmarks on system performance.
