ODYSSEA

Achieving a sustainable development trajectory in Amazonia is one of the key challenges facing Brazil, and is also an important international concern. ODYSSEA assembles an internationally renowned European and Brazilian multidisciplinary and intersectoral.

This project aims the exploitation of Amazonian ecosystems and natural resources and also to develop technologies adapted to the Amazonian environment (energies, civil engineering, tele-applications).

The Guianese and Amazonian environment gives the territories concerned specific characteristics (difficult conditions of accessibility to isolated sites, renewable energy resources available, increased needs for materials and energy consumption, etc.) which requires the development of technologies adapted to this context.  Therefore, the issues relating to training, research and development concern the analysis and the valorization of energy potentials, tele-applications as well as the evaluation of societal impacts related to the introduction of these new technologies.
