  • research domains

    DIRE is a multidisciplinary body covering several different themes and
    geographic areas (Indian Ocean, Europe, Americas, Caribbean) : French and
    relative themes literature, foreign literature, cultures and civilisations,
    linguistics, language-learning methods social sciences (sociology and
    anthropology). There are 4 research areas :

    • Theme 1 Imaginary, travel and utopia
    • Theme 2 Images, perspectives and bodies in motion
    • Theme 3 Plural contexts in contact
    • Theme 4 Thoughts, knowledge, (re)writing and (counter-) discourses
    • and a cross-cutting theme : Actions combining themes to compare
      viewpoints through a broader approach or a global and comparative
      approach. There are also specific cross-cutting activities linked to the OSOI
      (Observatory of Indian Ocean Societies) Federation and in partnership
      with other OSOI federation members.

    -Language teaching and learning methods, as well as multilingualism in a multicultural
    environment
