DIRE is a multidisciplinary body covering several different themes and
geographic areas (Indian Ocean, Europe, Americas, Caribbean) : French and
relative themes literature, foreign literature, cultures and civilisations,
linguistics, language-learning methods social sciences (sociology and
anthropology). There are 4 research areas :

-Languages (French, English, German, Spanish), texts, arts and cultures, Literature, Cinema
-Language teaching and learning methods, as well as multilingualism in a multicultural
environment
-Social norms, institutions and behaviour (sociological, anthropological/ethnological)
-Post-colonial societies
