Regional Commission for Research and Technology in Reunion and Mayotte

The DRRT is an administration in charge of actions oriented by the state in the region, for research, technology and innovation, as well as promoting a scientific, technical and industrial sector, including the social-economic stakeholders and the general public.
The regional commission is appointed by the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation and reports to the Prefect of the Region and the General Secretary for Regional Affairs (SGAR). The regional commission advises the Chief Education Officer on subject related to research and technology transfer, together with an inter-ministerial role linking up with all decentralised state services.

CORE TASKS
- To inform regional partners on national policy guidelines and the action plan of the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation’s (MESRI) action programme agenda
- To liase with the Ministry of Regional Initiatives
- To assist in the setting-up of the regional strategy in line with the national strategy
- To coordinate the regional activities of public bodies and institutions which fall under the MESRI.
- To support the development of competitiveness clusters and entreprises
- To bring connection for research in the social-economical sector, and organise the transfer of technology in the field of research/industry
- To support the dissemination of scientific, technical and industrial culture.
DUTIES of the State
- Assessing requests from young innovative businesses (JEI) for research tax credit application (CIR)
- Assessing the technical and economic aspects of CIFRE research funding requests
- Overseeing CPER in projects related to research, transfer of technology and innovation
- Developing and monitoring of ILAB initiatives
- Setting-up and monitoring of the Science Festival
- Following-up on the regional incubator for public research
- Setting-up and monitoring of labels, CRT and PFT.
