Edisoft

EDISOFT operates a Teleport in Santa Maria, Azores. It hosts a ground station which is able to receive images from Copernicus S-1 and other EO satellites that are fed into EDISOFT’s OceanEye Processing chain, to deliver NRT downstream services to EMSA. The teleport hosts Eumetsat, ESA, Galileo and New Space ground equipment.

Established in 1988, Edisoft – Empresa de Serviços e Desenvolvimento de Software, S.A (EDISOFT) is the Portuguese leader in systems engineering for naval platforms, collective security systems and space systems. In 2013 EDISOFT became a Thales Group company. Its other two shareholders are as NAV – Empresa Pública Navegação Aérea de Portugal (Portuguese Air Navigation Services Provider) and idD – Portugal Defence (Portuguese Defence Industry Holding). Today, EDISOFT’s operational systems are present all over the world, namely in South Korea, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Oman, United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Greece, Spain, Germany, The Netherlands, France, Luxembourg, Belgium, United Kingdom, Canada, Venezuela and Morocco. The Space Systems business unit has always been a very active area at EDISOFT, with the company covering a wide range of projects and competences involving recognized entities of the national and international communities, whether from the public (European Space Agency, EUMETSAT, FRONTEX, EMSA, European Commission, JRC, and others) or private (Airbus, OHB, Thales Alenia Space, Spire, K-SAT and other international business consortia) sector. The company has won many contracts in the following areas: On Board Software (Embedded Systems, Real Time Operation Systems, ISVV); Mission Control Software (Satellite Control Centre software, Ground Mission Segment engineering; Electrical Ground Support Equipment – EGSE; Ground Systems Engineering and Operations and Earth Observation services (Near Real Time Maritime surveillance – ship detection and classification, Detection of oil spills); and Payload Data Ground Segment and Digital Transformation (Payload Data Centres development, Long Term Data Preservation, Satellite Application Processing Facilities, Digital Transformation engineering). In the Space Segment, EDISOFT is leading the AEROS constellation project, an EO CubeSat to be launched in 2023 for the purpose of Oceanic monitoring. Teleport overview: https://vimeo.com/396914683
