IITAA (Institute for Investigation and Technology of Agronomy and Environment) is very much engaged and has the know how to pursuit studies on insular climate characterization / prediction and effects of global change on communities from the open ocean to the islands tops, modernize agriculture and animal production, making it more efficient, competitive and sustainable, improve food quality by analysing microorganisms as source of interesting metabolites.

The vision of IITAA is to promote an efficient and sustainable utilization of resources and food production, more specifically by investigating options that enable mitigation of global change (e.g. improving freezing conditions of embryos used in artificial fertilization), promote the value of food and search molecules of biotechnological interest.
