Nonagon

Nonagon is the first Science and Technology Park of the Autonomous Region of the Azores, located in the city of Lagoa, São Miguel Island. This project resulted from the combined efforts of the Regional Government of the Azores and the Municipality of Lagoa, in order to promote and enhance the interaction between the Government, Industry and University, towards the creation of a new development paradigm.

Nonagon aspires to be an international reference in the development of human, technological, business and social capital, sustained on knowledge, technology and innovation, with special regard to skills and entrepreneurial dynamics.

The main strategic goals of NONAGON are to:

• Foster the development of new leadership paradigms;
• Catalyse innovation and creativity;
• Place innovation as the foundation for business competitiveness;
• Contribute to attract and retain new talents;
• Promote the interaction between companies, R&D organizations and public entities;
• Monitor technology-based entrepreneurship, priming results;
• Support the promotion and establishment of regional, national and international partnerships.
