The Saint-Martin Nature Reserve is a 30km2 marine protected area located northeast of the island of Saint-Martin. Created in 1998, this area preserves the five main ecosystems of the island: coral reefs, mangroves, seagrass beds, ponds and dry coastal forest. The Reserve also manages the 14 ponds of the Conservatoire du littoral and its 11 km of natural land shores.
