The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Azores (CCIA), created in 1979, is the “umbrella” of the three Azorean Chambers of Commerce, that represent the secondary and tertiary sectors.This structure of business associations of the Azores unifies the existence of three centennial chambers of Commerce, increasing their capacity for intervention and the recognition in their geographical areas of influence – CCIA’s main intervention areas:

Chamber of Commerce
Social-economic partner
Promotion of the region and its products/services
Liaison between businesses and innovation/knowledge centres
Has a main role in the economy of the Azores, it has been an important partner with the Regional Government and other organizations

Through its affiliates it renders a wide scope of businesses services enad support.

RIS3 priorities
With the participation on H2020, FP, and Interreg projects we end up creating knowledge in the 3 main priorities of RIS3 Azores, which are:
- Tourism: Application of ICTs tourism, niche tourist services (Clustering – Interreg Project)
- Agriculture: Livestock and agroindustry. Diversification and sustainability of production systems. differentiation and value added of product (Clustering – Interreg Project)
- Fishing and the sea: Ocean knowledge, added value of fish products (Smartblue – Interreg Project)

Our research is obtained by our associates. Nevertheless we have a partnership with INOVA (INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY and INNOVATION OF THE AZORES). Occasionally we work with University of Azores (UAc)
